January 2nd, 2011. Day two of the adventure: Tave Kosi from Albania. A very rich leg-of-lamb stew, which bakes in a yogurt sauce. When it is done, the thick sauce hardens similarly to a souffle. Yummy. We ate it with a greens-and-beet salad and bread.

Wondering where Albania is? |
Albania is a relatively small country NW of Greece, on the Adriatic See coast. If one were to swim west long enough, one would get to Italy.
